SCHOOL OF FASHION DESIGN

Abstract

The project is a hypothetical project at Khumaltar,Lalitpur. This project fulfill the necessity of fashion design education in Nepal which is lacking in current design education. Fashion school will provide them an opportunity to explore their creativity, ideas and practice their works in one platform. It will be the place where they can be easily updated about the current trend of the fashion and lifestyle . Fashion school is mainly designed to provide the opportunity for developing different sector of fashion industry like-designing, manufacturing research units etc. Any design school has nodes and corridors where informal contacts and observational learning take place in addition to the authorized classes and studios. In order to create a lively environment inside the school, I have designed a variety of interaction spaces, such as a central open fashion runway where students can practice their modeling assignments, spill out areas for interaction, and a gallery with a boutique where the students' final products will be displayed and sold. Both the institution and the student will benefit since the public will see and value their work. Finally, the project aims to address the problem and purpose a school providing not just quality education but also other interactive spaces.
