Abstract: | The project “Detailed Engineering Survey, Design and Cost Estimation of Pakunepati to Changunarayan Hospital Road” aims comprehensive analysis and evaluation of road that includes detailed engineering survey, design and cost estimation of roadway from Pakunepati to Changunarayan hospital. The work was carried out through topographic survey of the section using open traverse method. Then using DTM software, contour map of the selected location was created and further design was carried out by using AutoCAD and SW Road software. California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test was also conducted to know strength of subgrade. Factor like traffic analysis of that location is considered. Pavement design is conducted using Overseas Road Note 31. The detail design and estimate was made based on DOR norms and Nepal Road Standard (NRS 2070). To get optimum good result, more realistic approach has been adopted taking in account the various consequences that may arise during the real practice. The main objective of the project work is to achieve the level of knowledge and practical understanding to construct and design road. This report is an outcome of hard work and perseverance. Any opinions, suggestions or criticism for the project would be fruitful. |
