BHAKTAPUR YOUTH CENTER (A Place for Positive Development)

Abstract

A youth center is a place where young people can meet and participate in a variety of activities. It is a place for youth to engage in positive activities be it informal educational, recreational, etc. The youth center will be a place for youth between the age 16- 25, which supports youth to develop their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, recognition, enjoyment, and friendship. It’s a stage or collective youth strength, motivated, mobilized and channeled or their all-round development as well as of the society. Today Kathmandu Valley lacks Youth centers which are solely devoted to the welfare of youth. Youth are the dynamic population who are responsible for the future of the nation. They have the potential to bring new ideas and enthusiasm within a community with the help of proper guidance, knowledge and opportunities. For this, youth need the space and opportunity to exercise their talents and knowledge for the movement of society for positive transformation. Bhaktapur Youth center will provide a platform for youths to spend their time in activities they are passionate, meet people of their age group and utilize their time in fruitful deeds. Bhaktapur Youth center offers programs for physical activities such as dance, music, sports and also for learning new things and exercising their talents and hobbies which encourage the growth of positive self-esteem. Youth who attend this center are able to freely express their opinions without fear of judgement, and are encouraged to participate in the development activities. By locating youth services in Bhaktapur Youth center, it would create more intuitive and stress-free process for youth to attain the services they need in on. This place be for respective youths to explore their talent, come out to their comfort zone and drain the insecurities and frustrations they have in life. Thus, Bhaktapur Youth center is important which promotes the youth activities and develop a sense of effective learning.
