Abstract: Damak is one of the oldest municipalities in the Easter Nepal. The site is located near the eastern part of Damak Bus park. It is home to many ex-Gurkha who served in the Nepali, Indian and British Military. From all the caste and ethic group in Damak, there are Limbu (6.5 percent), Newar (6.14 percent) and Rai (5.77 percent). The people of diverse caste, culture, language reside here. The Newari culture, traditions, values is in critical situation where, it seems to be preserved and more awareness regarding one’s culture traditions, its values is the most. Therefore, this thesis project is the one step forward to revive the Newari art, culture, traditions, faith, food, in my own home town damak, as the values on our own culture is seen declining, because of the movement of people outside the city and Arab world for employment is collecting foreign lifestyle and opportunities in the locality which have a mixed analysis. The approach of the project is to accept the positivism of westernization to create a distinct individual identity Main objective of art and cultural museum can be categorized as: To conserve and promote the art and craft that are available in local level through galleries, exhibition., to represent art and cultural museum as tourism development that justifies lifestyle of the locality., to provide information for the scholar and researcher about the locality through library. The museum displays the Newar artifacts related with Newar culture and religions on different display sections. Therefore, the thesis project presents a planning and design of Newari art and cultural center which can help to preserve and conserve the cultural heritage for future generation through sharing the information. As well as it can help in economy of the area through tourism. The project will mainly focus on preservation of cultural heritage of the locality through exhibition, library, galleries and studios
