Abstract: | The Ethno-Museum is an interactive open-air museum that blends Nepalese architecture with the country's diverse cultural heritage, showcasing the culture, traditions, art, and architecture of various ethnic groups in a single location. Focusing on three distinct ethnic communities-Newar, Tharu, and Sherpa-each representing unique geographical characteristics, the museum invites visitors to actively engage with these communities through hands-on workshops, cultural performances, and the opportunity to wear traditional ethnic attire, fostering a deeper connection with Nepal's rich cultural tapestry. The museum features traditional model houses arranged as a live museum, bringing to life the architectural and cultural practices of the featured ethnic groups. By emphasizing the use of vernacular architecture and local materials, the Ethno-Museum provides an engaging platform for visitors, particularly the younger generation, to learn about and connect with their cultural roots. As the saying goes, "A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people," and the Ethno-Museum endeavors to honor and perpetuate this legacy for future generations. |
