dc.description.abstractThe Convention Center Project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at designing, constructing, and operating a state-of-the-art convention center facility in Pokhara. The project aims to address the growing demand for a versatile, modern space to host conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, and various other large-scale events. This project “Convention Center, Pokhara” explores the question of how architectural tradition affects tourism and economy of the country. The typology for the exploration of this problem is a convention center comprised of new construction. It is important for designers to know that cities must keep traditions of architectures – even as tourism increases and these traditions evolve – as they define the original attraction to the place or space. This relationship between architecture and tourism is necessary in helping to define how architecture should progress or evolve in high-tourist areas. The narrative argues or the importance of the project in today’s society and asks the questions necessary to continue researching. The primary users are guests of the hotel, conference attendees, lecturers/presenters and staff at the administrative and support levels. Major project elements include conference space, auditorium, exhibition spaces, and reception areas, outdoor gathering space, and parking. Minor project elements include mechanical spaces, public restrooms, and storage. The project's objectives encompass the creation of a multifunctional venue that accommodates a wide range of event sizes and types. It will incorporate flexible spaces, advanced audiovisual capabilities, technology infrastructure. The convention center's layout will be optimized to facilitate seamless event flow, attendee comfort, and accessibility for all. The project emphasizes that sensitivity to architectural tradition is necessary for the growth or evolution of tourism. The research and design phases will be documented on a basis concurrent with the progress of the project. This abstract provides an overview of the project's key aspects, including its objectives, design considerations, economic impact, and anticipated benefits to the local community and beyond. The proposed convention center will serve as a catalyst for economic growth, attracting national and international events, fostering business opportunities, and promoting tourism In conclusion, the Convention Center Project presents an exciting opportunity to establish a world-class facility that will meet the evolving needs of event organizers, attendees, and the community at large.
