DETAILED ENGINEERING SURVEY,, DESIGN AND COST ESTIMATION OF CHANGUNARAYAN--JHAUKHEL ROAD”

Abstract

The project “Detailed Engineering Survey, Design and Cost Estimation of Changunarayan – Jhaukhel Road” aims to design and construct a roadway from Changunarayan to Jhaukhel which joins Changunarayan temple, a major tourist destination to the outer ring road of Kathmandu valley. For this, open traverse survey was done using total station. A topographic map was plotted using SW Road after checking the data in AutoCAD. Pavement was designed using the Road Note 31 after carrying out CBR test in laboratory. Plan and profile of the road were designed using SW Road along with cross sections of the road at an interval of 20 m after providing retaining structure and drainage facilities as per requirement. Finally, quantity and cost estimation were done to complete the proposed project.
